Kip Lytle, board member with the Historic Old Fort Wayne will be the speaker at the fall meeting of the Wells County Historical Society, on Monday, November 9, 6:30pm at the Museum Annex, located behind the museum at 420 W. Market Street in Bluffton, Indiana. A short business meeting will be held along with the election of officers for 2027.
Kip will share photos, artifacts and stories about the five forts that existed in northeast Indiana from 1722 to 1819. This photo shows the present Old Fort located in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Part of the speakers presentation will be the stories that have been passed down about some of the battles that happened near the forts.
The speaker will also bring some artifacts that have been collected from this time period.
