Wells County Public Library staff person Jason Habegger reports that for some time the library has wanted to make all of the scanned obituaries available to the public. Currently the library staff are slowly adding each obituary to software called Portfolio, this will make obituaries available through our card catalog. The process is tedious and requires 2 people because each obit is added individually. So, we are trying something different to make all our scanned obituaries easily accessible as a whole. This was accomplished through google drive. They are in sorted into folders alphabetically. This link is unrestricted so please share it far and wide with people you know who could benefit from the new information. Let Jason know jhabegger@wellscolibrary.org if the link gives you any issues. The library adds obituaries to the folders daily so expect this file to be periodically updated. Here is the link:

Thank you to the Jason at the Wells County Public Library and to the Wells County Genealogy Society for sharing this latest tool that will help with genealogy research in the community.
