The Wells County Highway Department has officially made the move to their new facility located at 0828 E 200 S, Bluffton. The new and improved building has many advantages. It can now accommodate the much larger trucks that are used today to maintain our county roads and bridges. Originally, the old building was built as the Interurban Car Garage as seen in the 1908 black and white photo. The Interurban with electric rail lines in Indiana ran from 1904 – 1941. The county purchased the building in 1945 and began to convert it into the Highway Department Garage.
